The deal
Flint Group, a Kansas City company that buys residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical businesses, has acquired Air Around the Clock of South Florida, now operating as Around the Clock A/C, Plumbing, Electric. Terms were not disclosed.
The company has its main office in Deerfield Beach and a north office in Palm City. It was founded by Eric Pereira, its president, and Steve Cartier, and some of its technicians have been with the company for more than 25 years.
Flint was founded in 2019 and is backed by General Atlantic. Air Around the Clock is the only Florida company among its 19 partner brands. Pereira said the partnership opens new growth opportunities.
Platforms entering a new state usually start with one strong, well-run company. Notice that the technician tenure got mentioned. Long-tenured techs are proof that a company's culture holds people, and that lowers the biggest risk buyers worry about after closing: people walking out the door.
What this means if you own a Florida home service company
- Tenure is proof. Techs who stay 25 years tell a buyer your team won't leave after the sale.
- First in a state matters. Being a platform's first brand in a market can mean a bigger role.
- Florida demand is real. Year-round cooling work makes Florida HVAC especially attractive.
