The deal

Liberty Restoration Group, a Midwest disaster-restoration company that operates ServiceMaster Restore franchises, has acquired ServiceMaster Restoration Services by KRS, with offices in Peoria and Bloomington, Ill., and Milwaukee, Wis. The announcement also covered Liberty's April purchase of ServiceMaster of Columbia in Missouri. Terms were not disclosed.

Liberty was formed in 2025 and is backed by MBN Brands together with Petra Capital Partners and SharpVue Capital. It handles emergency water, fire, smoke, storm and mold work for both homeowners and commercial customers, and now operates in eight markets across Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio and Kentucky.

The local leaders of both acquired businesses are staying on to run their teams, while Liberty centralizes finance, HR and training. The company says it plans to keep acquiring.

The V2 take

Restoration is one of the clearest examples of a franchise-network roll-up: a buyer collects multiple territories under the same national brand, then uses scale to take on bigger jobs and respond faster. If you own a franchise location in any home service brand, you have a natural pool of buyers: other franchisees and the groups consolidating them.

What this means if you own a franchise or restoration business

  • Franchisees are buying franchisees. Multi-unit groups are actively consolidating territories within the same brand.
  • Capacity is a selling point. Buyers value crews and equipment that let them take on larger losses and storm events.
  • Know your franchise agreement. Transfer rules and franchisor approval can shape timing and buyer options, so read them before you start.
