The deal
PestCo Holdings, a national residential and commercial pest control provider owned by St. Louis private equity firm Thompson Street Capital Partners, has acquired Bio-Tech Pest Control of Spring, Texas, in an asset purchase. Terms were not disclosed.
Bio-Tech serves residential and commercial customers across metropolitan Houston. Owners Pierre Riettini and Jason Pitman built the business over more than 30 years and said PestCo was the right fit and that now was the right time to let go.
PestCo CEO Jay Keating framed the deal as part of the company's continued expansion in Texas, with a focus on keeping Bio-Tech's customers and creating opportunities for its team.
Houston is one of the largest and fastest-growing metros in the country, and pest control buyers pay for route density in markets like that. Notice the language from the sellers: fit and timing. Owners who know what they want from the next chapter, and who start the process before they're worn out, get to choose the buyer instead of the other way around.
What this means if you own a pest control company
- Density sells. A recurring customer base packed into a growing metro is exactly what platforms are paying for.
- Asset deals are common. Many pest deals are structured as asset purchases. Know how that affects your taxes before you sign.
- Timing is yours to pick. Thirty years in, these owners chose when to sell. Planning ahead keeps that choice in your hands.
