The deal
Service Country, an Atlanta-based platform of home service companies, has announced five new partner companies at once. Grove Mountain Partners is its primary owner alongside its operator partners. Terms were not disclosed.
The companies are Bailey's Heating & Air of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., Southern Trust Home Services of Roanoke, Va. (founded in 1995), GNG Plumbing of Orange Beach, Ala., All Tech Plumbing, Heat & Air of Lawton, Okla., and Springfield Heating and Air of Madison, Miss.
Each company keeps its brand and local leadership and gains access to the platform's marketing, operations, training and technology resources. Service Country is led by CEO George Easley, with Grove Mountain partner John B. Koch as chairman.
Fort Oglethorpe sits just across the state line from Chattanooga. Together with Leap Partners' purchase of Central Heat & Air in Cleveland, Tenn., two platforms bought into the region within two months. Buyers are clearly working the Chattanooga area. If you own a company here, the question isn't whether a buyer will call, it's whether you'll be ready when one does.
What this means if you own a company in the Chattanooga region
- Buyers are here. Two platforms entered the Chattanooga area this summer. Expect more.
- Batch deals happen. Platforms often close several companies together. Timing can be on their schedule, not yours.
- Resources aren't price. Marketing and training support are nice. The terms still decide what you take home.
